Structured outline
A structured outline that meets the typical requirements of an invention description.
Standard outline (typical for university forms)
- Task and field: What is the problem? Which field does your invention belong to?
- State of the art: What exists? What are the drawbacks? (with literature)
- Remedy for the drawbacks: Which gap does your invention close?
- Technical solution: What exactly do you do? Components, process, sketches
- Advantages: Concrete advantages over the state of the art
- Bibliography: All cited sources
Length: Typically about 1–2 DIN A4 pages (or more if needed). Preliminary experiments, fundamentals: only as aids, not as the core.
